The Curly Haired Cook

Connecting my love for culture with food

During the COVID-19 quarantine, I taught myself how to cook. Growing up in an Italian-Lebanese family, food was always an important part of my upbringing yet I lacked a passion for cooking that all of my family members had. During my long and boring quarantine, I got a craving for focaccia and taught myself how to make it. I decided to document my focaccia and created the Curly Haired Cook Instagram account. My first post was a picture of the focaccia I made with the caption "#focacciafriday".

I am now an avid cook and passionate foodie. My account reflects everything I cook, bake, and eat; displaying photos, cooking tutorials, and restaurant reviews. My cooking account serves as an additional way to foster my love for culture, travel, learning, and food. As my account grows, I connect with other chefs, creators, and foodies from around the world. My favorite cuisine to make is Italian food but my account helps me expand my culinary skills into other cuisines. I also love making Mexican, Middle-Eastern, and Asian dishes. Each cuisine I cook, immerses me into the history and culture of the area.
