Global Conferences
Throughout my time at the University of Florida, I had the honor of representing my school at two conferences, the Florida International Leadership Conference in Lake Placid, Florida and the Global Student Leadership Conference in Chicago, Illinois.
Florida International Leadership Conference
I spent a few days at Camp Cloverleaf in Lake Placid, Florida with 150 international students. Through this conference I enhanced my leadership skills and promoted friendships and networks among international and study abroad students. I was also acknowledged and rewarded for my work promoting international understanding on campus. I was challenged to see myself as a global leader and recognized the different styles of leadership across cultures.
Diversity Abroad Global Student Leadership Summit
The Global Student Leadership Summit is an immersive opportunity for emerging leaders from all backgrounds to participate in professional development workshops to enhance their career readiness by learning how to articulate and leverage their international experience for career and graduate opportunities. As a participant I developed awareness of diversity and inclusion especially as it relates to leadership in a global society and considered solutions to global issues through workshops and case studies. Through networking and community-building activities, I will experienced meaningful interactions with student leaders from a variety of different colleges and universities.
